Are you a teen who wants to make a difference through film? Submit a short film to help change the talk about 

sexual violence and consent. We will screen the top 10 films at a festival and award cash prizes to the top 3 winners!

Consent and Cinema 2019

Teen Film Festival

On May 4, 2019, Change the Talk hosted our first ever film festival: Consent and Cinema. Teens from across the country submitted short films to raise awareness about sexual violence, consent, and gender justice. Thank you to everyone who attended & made the festival such a success! We screened 11 selected films by talented filmmakers. Congratulations to the winning films!

First Place: You’re a Guy - Lauryn Uhlenberg

"You're a Guy" highlights an aspect of sexual assault which is rarely discussed in society and the media.

Second Place: Homesick - Nathan Kadota & Kristina Kalatschan

Homesick aims to break the victim stereotype and show that abuse victims

may not look like what you expect from the outside.

Third Place: i am not the absence of color - Analisa McFarlane

This film is about the process of overcoming an intense experience that challenged this filmmaker's self-worth and everything that makes them an individual.
