TEEN LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

Do you want to make a difference in your community?

Do you care about speaking up against sexual assault and sexual harassment?

Become a teen leader with Change the Talk and advocate for change!

At its core, Change the Talk is a teen leadership program. We train teens how to educate their peers about sexual violence, consent, bystander intervention, and how to support survivors. See below for the different ways to plug in and contact us to become involved.

Change the Talk conducts FREE Leadership Development Training sessions for teens to become Peer Educators. Participants build leadership skills and connect with peers from across Los Angeles. They learn how to educate their peers on topics of sexual violence, consent, legal rights, and bystander intervention.

Change the Talk hosts teen-led events several times a year for teens to meet each other, learn about sexual violence prevention, discuss current events, engage in advocacy, hear from guest speakers, and gain leadership skills. Whether you are new to Change the Talk or have been involved for a long time, this is a space for you.

Change the Talk teen leaders plan and implement events for their peers and the wider community. Examples of past events include: film screenings, art galleries, panel discussions, ice cream socials, and more.

Are you an artist, writer, poet, filmmaker, musician, etc? Teen leaders are invited to create and share relevant content for Change the Talk's blog, Instagram, Facebook, and art events.
